Children's Ministry Center Décor Vision
Within the upstairs and downstairs hallways and shared spaces in the Children's Ministry Center (CMC) you will notice three main elements of decoration: pictures of children and leaders, colorful Chinese lanterns, and a steel cut world map.
Vision and thought went into these three elements of decoration.
1. Pictures of "Our Kids." Throughout, you will see framed and canvas pictures of children (and leaders) from many areas of ministry at SBPC: KIDSunday, KidsGames, Casa De Amistad, Come Build Hope, the AFAR, etc. We believe these pictures represent all of those kids who are "our" kids. The CMC is dedicated space on our campus at SBPC for ministry to our kids. These pictures represent the kids we are called to love, bless, and encourage into an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. Lanterns. Lanterns are created to have a fire lit inside and sent off - shining light in darkness. We also believe this about our kids. Our desire is that our kids will come to this building and community and through our invested adult leaders, peer relationships, and programs, each child will be ignited with a fire, with the light of Jesus Christ, and sent to shine that light.
3. World Map. As fully devoted followers of Jesus, we take on the mission of God in the world. We believe that the youngest among us can be active participants in the good news, the story of God redeeming and restoring God's creation. With this in mind, our hope is that our kids will be filled with the light of Christ, and sent into to the world-starting with their schools, neighborhoods, and their own homes.
