This Congregational Gathering is a three times a year opportunity to share a meal, celebrate ministry, make decisions and pray together for the ministry of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church. Childcare included.

Wednesday, June 12 we will:

• Celebrate changed lives through the ministry of SBPC in Ministry Year 2013
• Share new plans and vision for Ministry Year 2014
• Hear updates on Campus Master Plan and Generations Campaign
• Approve pastors terms of call
• Pray for our ministry and life together

The evening includes a main entrée for $13*. Childcare (birth-6th grade) is provided. There will be additional seating for those members who do not plan to attend dinner. Dinner begins at 6:30 and program begins promptly at 7:00 pm.

*Volunteers are needed. The first 15 members to sign up as volunteers will receive free dinner with the meeting. You will need to be available before or after the meeting to help with setup or tear down.

Still Time to Build Hope!

Join the happy crew of dedicated volunteers, young and old, who will build homes of hope with Mexican families near Rosarito on Memorial Day weekend, Friday-Sunday, May 24-26. The cost is $350, covering food, transportation, building materials.

Last year we launched our newest global partnership with the Word of Life Youth Camp in Hungary. Join us this summer as we go back to this Forest Home-like camp, that gives 1000+ kids an exciting introduction to the Gospel through English lessons, sports activities, etc. This partnership is being led by our Worship and Student departments, with Pastor Tom and Carole Orness as team leaders. It's an ideal opportunities for parents and students to serve Christ together. The dates are July 24-Aug 4, 2013. Pastor Mike and Amy have chosen an itinerary for a group pilgrimage to Turkey in 2014.

"We are excited to return for our third pilgrimage with a 14 day trip, which allows us to experience Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antioch, Tarsus, Patmos, and the Seven Churches, including the magnificent Ephesus. As in previous trips, this is travel with a purpose. We will explore thousands of years of biblical history, grow in community with each other, study scripture and meet God in the places where the early church expanded into Asia Minor and beyond." -Pastor Mike

The Summer months are approaching and we are, once again, excited about the ministry of our annual Summer Choir!   I'm sure many of you look forward to this short term choir experience. We want to extend an invitation to Jr. High, High School students and up to join us in the Summer Choir '13.

The plan is this: We have two Thursday rehearsals on July 11 and 18. After that the Summer choir simply shows up on Sunday morning at 9:15 to prepare for the 10:30 Debin Hall service. The first Sunday for the Summer Choir to sing is July 14 and the last Sunday is September 1st. We know that many of you in the congregation have wanted to sing in the choir so this is your opportunity to join the Summer Choir family.

After singing the first service, July 14, we are inviting all of you who can, to join Dan Bird for lunch at
Fidels restaurant in Solana Beach. Hope to see you with us on July 11!
