The Mosaic Project - Stratetgic Planning Process

The Mosaic Project is the strategic planning initiative of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church. We began in 2004 with extensive surveys of both staff and congregation about what the future holds for SBPC. We also spent countless hours in prayer discerning the will of God and the direction we should go.

Shortly after we finished our surveys, the Strategic Planning Team met and prayerfully considered the mountains of data before them. What emereged from that process were six strategic initiatives for SBPC.

Those strategic initiatives were handed over to our Strategic Planning Transition Team made up entirely of staff members. They had the responsibity to translate the initiatives into goals and action plans for their ministry areas while keeping in alignment with the initiatives as well as our mission, vision, and values.

Ministry Year 2007 (MY07) which began on July 1, 2006 kicks off our first year of strategic implementation. Below, you will find details for ministry action plans, our financial planning process and more.

FINANCIAL PLAN - MINISTRY YEAR 2007 (MY07)

This year we implemented a new financial planning process which places more responsibility on staff leadership to allocate resources. The new process begins with the Financial Planning Committee (made up of Head of Staff, Executive Director, three current elders and three inactive elders) then moves to a staff executive team and then finally discussed by the Financial Planning Committee and approved by Session.
