What is a Sermon-based Small Group?
Small Groups are made up of 10-12 people who meet weekly in homes to study, to share, and to support one another in their Christian lives. The studies are based on the previous week’s Sunday message using a curriculum designed from the message outline with additional supporting passages. Each group is led by a trained Facilitator who is accountable to a Small Group Mentor Leader. A typical meeting lasts two hours and includes light refreshments, discussion, and prayer. No homework is required.
Why use the Sermon-based model?
This new model enhances the effectiveness of the large group worship experience by building a discussion around application of the weekly message. Imagine this as a “lecture-lab” style that encourages people to personalize their insights, get feedback from group members, and discover how Scripture works out in real life.
Who is the study for?
It’s for anyone who wants to learn more about the Sunday message topic and text through Bible study and application in the context of a group. Because of the practical and relational nature of these studies, it works well for both new and mature Christ followers alike or as an excellent introduction to Christianity for a spiritual seeker.

When and where do the groups meet?
Small Groups meet on various days and nights of the week in homes throughout the community. Contact the small group coordinator via email for information on locations and times.
What is the required commitment?
Joining a small group requires a ten-week commitment to attend the weekly meetings. This commitment is the key to strong relationships and healthy groups. At the end of each session, participants have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group, or taking a break.
Is childcare provided?
Childcare is not provided by the church. Each family is to work out their own arrangements. Families may want to share a sitter or to swap childcare with a family whose group meets on a different night/day.
How do I join a small group?
1. Review the Open Small Groups section of the directory, email the small group coordinator or stop by the registration table on the patio.
2. Sign up on the patio or via email with the small group coordinator.
3. Prior to your first meeting, your Small Group facilitator will call you with the location and directions.

A Word of Advice:
If you know which group you want to join, do not delay. The groups will fill up fast, and the sooner you register, the more likely it is that you will get your first choice.
