Stephen Ministry
If you have any of the spiritual gifts of mercy, encouragement, and wisdom and have a heart for ministering to individuals experiencing difficult challenges of life, our Stephen Ministry -- a distinctively Christian caring ministry of one-on-one support -- is for you. The kickoff is January 16 and 17 with Life-to-Life training in Debin Hall. Thereafter, Stephen Ministry Basic Training runs for 5 months on Monday nights followed by 18 months of active care ministry supported by your own spiritual formation, continuing education, and supervision. Life-to-Life Basic Training
Life-to-Life Basic Training, a 10 hour workshop, is open to all interested individuals with any spiritual gifts of encouragement, wisdom, mercy, shepherding , teaching and a heart for personal helping, caring, mentoring, teaching, and leading relationships – e.g. care-givers, tutors, mentors of children or students, small group leaders, ministry team facilitators, etc. Pastor Barry Moller will be teaching the basic skills necessary for building helpful relationships in one-on-one or group settings, being an effective listener, and facilitating another person’s growth, help, care, healing, or direction. If you are interested in creating an inviting environment and facilitating others to grow in your presence, Life-to-Life is a workshop for you. Preparation for Marriage
This class gives pre-engaged, engaged, and even married couples an opportunity to explore Biblical foundations for marriage, principles and skills for communication, and the use of the Myers-Briggs-Temperament Profile to understand our respective uniqueness. Living Through Loss
This workshop is offered for those who have suffered a loss and are willing to explore new roads away from despair, accompanied by caring people.
